| About SARA | ||||||||||||||||||||||
|
The SARA team is primarily an awareness group on campus, although some response is involved. The goal of the SARA team is to educate members of the Washington College Community about issues such as sexual harassment, sexual assault, rape, and domestic violence. In the Fall the SARA Team recogonizes October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Activities involve a purple ribbon campaign, a Peoplešs Pledge, and a candlelight vigil. The organization also sponsors a themed Coffeehouse. In the spring SARA recognizes April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Some activities include a candlelight vigil and the Clothesline Project. The SARA team is on call for anyone who is a victim of assault. The members are available to talk with individuals about problems they are experiencing, give advice and relate to the victims. All members must sign a confidentiality agreement at the beginning of each semester. To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the SARA Archives. (The current archive is only available to the list members.) |
