Sho'men Sports Weekly - 1/15/07
Women's Basketball (7-7, 2-6 Centennial)
Freshman guard Jane O'Donnell made a school-record eight three pointers,
including six-of-seven in the second half, and scored a freshman
school-record 30 points to lead the Shorewomen past Franklin & Marshall
Thursday, 66-52. The victory completed the Shorewomen's first five-game
win streak since 1998 and was just the Shorewomen's second win ever over
the Diplomats - the other one also coming in 1998. Freshman forward Julie
Sherwood tallied career-bests with 11 rebounds and four steals. Senior
guard LaToya Turner scored 15 points in the victory for the Shorewomen.
On Saturday, Washington's win streak came to an end as the Shorewomen fell
at Dickinson, 66-44. Junior guard Elise Conway led the Shorewomen with 14
points, eight rebounds, and four assists in the loss. O'Donnell added 11
points.
The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a Centennial Conference game
at McDaniel and will then host conference rival Muhlenberg on Saturday.

Men's Basketball (2-12, 1-7 Centennial)
The Shoremen went 0-3 in three Centennial Conference games last week.
Sophomore guard Tim Kohlrus led the Shoremen with 20 points and a
career-best 12 rebounds in a 70-55 loss to Gettysburg Tuesday. Senior
forward Joey Breslin added 14 points in the loss.
Franklin & Marshall bested the Shoremen, 80-54, Thursday. Breslin paced
Washington with 19 points and seven caroms. Kohlrus scored eight points and
brought down six rebounds, while freshman forward Bobby Klepacki finished
with a career-best six points.
Dickinson held off the Shoremen for a 59-56 win Saturday. Breslin led the
Shoremen with 14 points, six rebounds and four assists. Senior forward
Kevin Marshburn scored a career-best nine points on three three-pointers,
while sophomore guard Todd Green also scored nine points and dished out
four assists.
The Shoremen are slated to travel to McDaniel for a Centennial Conference
game Wednesday and will return home for a conference game against
Muhlenberg Saturday.

Men's Swimming (4-2, 1-1 Centennial)
Women's Swimming (6-2, 1-2 Centennial)
The Shoremen and Shorewomen return to dual meet competition Tuesday with a
non-conference meet at Goucher. Conference action resumes Saturday when
the teams travel to Dickinson.
